Best of the Best

Red Dot Award 2016

Standing either side of the long red carpet, the Feuerring team along with all the Feuerring models helped enrich the Red Dot Product Design award ceremony in early July 2016.

Boasting an impressive backdrop directly in front of the Red Dot Design Museum at the Zollverein UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Feuerring offered a glowing and atmospheric setting for passers-by or those enjoying a break between the Red Dot Gala, the Winners’ Dinner and the Party at the Design Museum.

Roughly 1500 guests from the world of architecture and design initially celebrated the winners of the Red Dot Product Design 2016 at the Aalto-Theater in Essen. It was where the Swiss steel sculptor and Feuerring designer Andreas Reichlin gratefully accepted the Red Dot award:  Best of the Best from the award initiator Prof. Dr. Peter Zec.

Feuerring wowed the Red Dot jury with its seminal design; with its purist design idiom really coming to the fore at the Zollverein Coal Mine.

The statement of the jury
«The design of the TULIP Feuerring takes up the symbolism of archaic fireplaces in a fascinating manner. It impresses with a compact and purist design idiom matched with a high degree of user-friendliness. The TULIP Feuerring is functional, durable and lends itself ideally for use as a grill. It conveys a sense of homely cosiness and possesses a high aesthetic quality that underlines the appeal of its beautiful surfaces.»
