A process

Beate
Ever since the foundation of our small but rapidly growing company, Andreas and I have noticed how important it is to recognise necessary changes in the growth process and to implement them into and for our daily work. This development process has always been an everyday part of what we do as «team leaders». Constant change, accompanied by new ideas and strategies, is the key factor that drives our business and thus the Feuerring with its underlying philosophy forwards and closer to like-minded individuals who share and appreciate similar values.

One of these values is sustainable thinking and doing - both at work, in daily decisions with our colleagues, partners, potential and existing customers, and for all the products we create. Sustainability is an essential platform for the Feuerring as an object, which due to its longevity will bring joy not only to the present generation, but also to future generations - thus becoming a family heirloom.

Andreas
The Feuerring came about due to a few of my needs: First of all, I wanted to get a fire going and barbecue without my stomach being tied in knots - I was having big trouble digesting food cooked over a charcoal grill - and as a sculptor, I was naturally interested in the form of the object. Like my steel sculptures, I wanted it to outlast time itself through the choice of materials, workmanship, functionality and reduction to the essentials. And just like my sculptures, a Feuerring changes over the years and with use. It is marked by the life that takes place around it. These «marks» interest me from an artistic point of view; a Feuerring’s life becomes visible through the changes in colour and the courses of water or oil that give the steel a distinctive character. Thus, gradually over time your Feuerring develops its own individual expression. The moments experienced around the Feuerring with your family give it a very special meaning and the longer it is used, the more it becomes a place of energy and inspiration. Even without a fire.

At Feuerring, we like to spend our working hours with things that offer value and durability. Whilst keeping a keen eye on changing needs, we ensure a constant metamorphosis of our office structures - not always to the delight of all of our employees, as internalised processes are never easy to change … Andreas and I are also fully aware of the changes that happen in life during our work with the Feuerring. As it’s not just a grill. It’s a decision for a life full of beautiful things, focussing on simplicity, creative design and enjoyment of the moment, secure in the knowledge that these moments shape our lives and the things around us. What remains are the signs of change.

Andreas
For me personally, it’s always a pleasure to express the beauty of the development of our new steel clad studio to visitors who initially look at the rusting surfaces with distaste. When customers choose our steel seating cubes, for example, they do so with the knowledge that the changes to the metal surfaces are taking place in their own garden and that they can and should embrace and enjoy these changes. And that this development takes time, but is always beautiful. We could of course accelerate the rusting process and provide pre-rusted Kubus chairs / tables, but we want our customers to experience the process of change. I love making people aware of the fact that a Feuerring and the steel furniture become more beautiful with use and that all you need to do is to understand the material and in the end the transience of the here and now. Therefore, a Feuerring enriches more than just the garden.
